Easy Patriotic Parfaits

Super easy patriotic parfaits

Yogurt is one of my favorite snacks, plain or combined with fruit, granola, chocolate… just about anything you can think of. But my absolute favorite combination is vanilla yogurt with strawberries and blueberries. So easy, right? Well, it also makes a perfect patriotic snack for the 4th of July!

These are super healthy and kid-friendly. We use the low-fat yogurt rather than fat free… It just tastes better, I think. And another tip… we like to freeze our blueberries and strawberries first. Don’t put them in the freezer too long; you don’t want them to be rock hard. But when frozen blueberries pop in your mouth… Well, that’s just bliss.

To make the parfaits (especially if you’re using a short glass like I did), I’d recommend starting with the strawberries first. As you can see, I didn’t. I started with yogurt first, and it’s kind of overpowering the fruit. Don’t make the same mistake I did. 🙂

Add strawberries, top with yogurt, and then with the frozen blueberries. That’s it! Super simple… and it’s a great recipe for the kids to make for everyone on the 4th of July or whenever. Is there ever a bad time to eat a parfait? I don’t think so.
